Provides pet adoption services; spay/neuter clinics; pet food assistance for low-income pet owners; community education about pet care; shelter for animals who have been abandoned, abused, or surrendered by their owners; and community support of animal cruelty investigations. The shelter attempts to reunite lost pets with owners. The Foster Care Program provides food and supplies for volunteers willing to provide temporary foster care for pregnant cats and dogs, animals recovering from minor surgery, and animals in extreme stress in the shelter environment.

Windham County Humane Society is a non-profit animal shelter and services organization that serves Windham County and surrounding areas. Services include animal adoption; shelter for animals who have been abandoned, abused, or surrendered by their owners; low or no-cost spay neuter and wellness clinics; preventive care for low-income pet owners; community education about pet care; and assist law enforcement in the investigation of reported cruelty and neglect of animals.
