Patients without sufficient financial resources to travel to needed diagnosis and treatment facilities; patients unable to use public transportation because of their medical condition; patients who live in areas where public transportation is not available; or family members who need to reach critically ill, injured, or dying family members.

Angel Flight Northeast (NE) is a non-profit organization providing free air transportation by volunteer pilots in private aircraft to patients in the northeastern United States with critical, non-emergency, medical care needs. Angel Flight NE also provides transportation for organs, blood, and patients awaiting organ transplants, makes compassion flights, and provides air care. Angel Flight NE is a member of the Homeland Security Emergency Transportation System and provides air services in times of national emergency. In cooperation with the VA, the organization provides transportation for wounded military personnel and their families.Through an alliance with Air Charity Network, it provides flights for people throughout the United States and Eastern Canada.
