JOHN CASSARINO OVERNIGHT SHELTER | OPEN DOOR MISSION
Provides overnight shelter for men and women. Offers case management and life skills program, laundry, and referrals for education, medical treatment, and mental health services. Shelter clients may be eligible for transitional housing. Open Door Mission is a participant in the Veterans Shelter Project. Shower facilities are available to any homeless person . Single Adults 18 and Older who have successfully participated in the overnight shelter program are eligible to enter the transitional housing portion of the program.

Free for first 14 days if resident is not employed or receiving benefits, small fixed fee thereafter. Residents who are employed or on benefits pay small fixed fee from day one. Small fee for anyone who receives SSI, SSDI. Veterans come in through a VA program if they have honorable discharge and served at least 2 years active duty in the military (including Guard). Veterans who have served at least one day before 1982 are also eligible.
Eligibility
Shelter: Single Adults 18 and Older from any location; Persons on probation may apply; Individuals on parole, or charged with or convicted of a violent or sexual offense are not eligible to apply; No drugs or alcohol allowed; Testing done on a regular basis; Anyone who has violated this rule cannot return to the shelter for 30 days and are permanently barred from the transitional housing program; Staff is trained on handling persons with PTSD Showers: Open to All persons who are homeless
