Provides management and surveillance of wildlife diseases including rabies, avian influenza, and chronic wasting disease. Offers a Vermont-specific rabies hotline in partnership with the Vermont Department of Health. Responds to questions and concerns about nuisance wildlife. Individuals concerned about safety due to an animal entering their home, yard, highway/road, or municipalities should contact their local police. USDA Wildlife Services offices are not public. Phone calls to local office may go directly to Rabies Hotline if no one is in office.
